Things that make a sound, well-run trial that safeguards patients include the items discussed in the previous section of this information. Keeping these items in mind, here are some important questions for you to ask to find out if a study is well run:
- What is its purpose?
- Who has reviewed and approved the study?
- Who is sponsoring the study?
- How are the study data and patient safety checked?
- Where will information from the study go?
(In most instances, reports go to the Food and Drug Administration.)
